Bunq

Bunq

Introduction:

As the Head of Design, I was brought on board with a vision to revamp and redefine the design ethos of the company, as well as to establish clear guidelines and processes within our design framework. It was my privilege to work closely with CEO Ali Niknam and the content team, collaborating to create groundbreaking visuals that would cement the brand's identity on a global scale. Following this, I delved into a comprehensive analysis of the product journey, from onboarding to completion, details of which are shared below.

Design Approach:

Our design motto evolved to be "Bunq is the new black" - a guiding principle that I introduced in my presentation to Ali Niknam and the team. This captured our aspiration to make Bunq synonymous with design excellence, setting a high bar for innovation and aesthetic appeal.

Our Strategy & Accomplishments:

  1. We executed a successful rebranding of Bunq, aligning its visual identity with our new design motto and reinforcing its distinctive positioning in the market.
  2. We revamped the landing page, introducing design elements that reflected the brand's unique identity and optimized user experience.
  3. We conducted a Product Design Sprint specifically focused on the onboarding process. This allowed us to reimagine and enhance the initial user interaction, ensuring a positive and memorable first impression of Bunq.
  4. We also introduced new design processes, standardizing workflows and enhancing efficiency within the design team, while leaving room for creativity and innovation.

In conclusion, my tenure as the Head of Design at Bunq was marked by a holistic transformation of the company's design ethos, product experience, and brand identity. The strategies and frameworks we implemented were designed to be versatile and scalable, providing a solid foundation for future design initiatives and product enhancements.
